DUKES Waffy New Year: #Pledge365 (TVC December 2017)

~Kolla krishna Madhavi

Pledge an uninterrupted hour a day for your child!

Directed by Divyansh Ganjoo and conceptualised by Orcomm Advertising, the latest ad by Dukes Waffy is the heartfelt story of a little boy, Rohan who tries alternatively to speak to both his parents, but neither have the time for him. They are both caught up in their day-to-day activities. This continues over a period of time.

Finally, Rohan picks up his little soft toy, Gobo and forlornly shares with it how he is being bullied in school by Aarav. He seeks the toy's help to counter the bully. His mother overhears him and realises her mistake.

Soon after, we see both the parents sitting together with Rohan and keenly listening to their son as he shares his day's occurrences with them. The boy is animated and happy as he finally has his parents' undivided attention.

In the foreground, we see a small box labelled "Rohan's time" with 2 phones in it.

Dukes by Ravi Foods Pvt. Ltd. (RFPL) takes its philosophy of Waffy Happy a step further with this campaign. It has a sweet but critical message for parents urging them to gift an uninterrupted hour a day to their children.

This commercial is a definite wakeup call! Caught up in a digital world, parents sometimes tend to devote more time to their devices then to their children.
